Coaches from Wigan Athletic Community Trust work across the borough every night of the week to provide constructive sports activities for young people.

Working in partnership with organisations such as the Premier League, Wigan and Leigh Homes and Wigan Council, the Community Trust aims to provide sporting opportunities for young people between the ages of 12–19 in their own communities.

Projects such as Premier League Kicks, based in seven areas across Wigan, have helped hundreds of young people take part in football training and gain sports qualifications, while helping to reduce anti-social behaviour in the area.

The Trust's award-winning Pathway 2 Participation project provides a mentoring service to 12-19 year olds across Wigan, enabling them to take part in activities designed to improve their health and well-being, while also raising their aspirations and ambitions.
