Wigan Athletic Community Trust runs a range of education courses that use football and sport to motivate and inspire young people.

The Latics Enterprise Academy is a three-year project funded by the Premier League and Sport Relief, which provides business qualifications to secondary school students, using the model of a professional football club to inspire youngsters to become interested in business.

In conjunction with its partners at the Montrose Skills Hub, Pro-Co NW Ltd, Wigan Athletic Community Trust provides two exciting training and apprenticeship courses for young people over the age of 16 who want to become sports coaches, those of which are Train With Latics and the Latics Apprenticeship.

Both courses provide unemployed 16-18 year olds the chance to earn recognised sports qualifications, taking their learning outside of the classroom to lead coaching sessions, with further opportunities to continue their studies at university following completion of the courses.
