Latics are through to the area semi-final of the EFL Youth Alliance Cup after a comfortable 3-1 victory against Tranmere Rovers.
First half goals from Joe Gelhardt and Charlie Jolley were added to by defender Tom Hilton in the second half, keeping Latics on track in the cup competition, matching their incredible league run as leaders by nine points.
Gelhardt opened the scoring with a superb run into the Tranmere box from Jolley's assist, with the forward calmly finishing with his left foot from a tight angle.
Provider turned goal scorer for Latics' second three minutes later, when Jolley, who won back possession, played a one-two with Joe Downey before beating the Tranmere keeper from an almost exact angle as Gelhardt's opener.
The hosts pulled a goal back through Moreton, but Latics soon restored their two-goal lead when Hilton's header from Downey's corner was deemed to be over the line despite a scramble to clear by the Tranmere goalkeeper.
