Wigan Athletic's under-18 side beat Fleetwood Town 4-0 on Saturday afternoon, registering their first win in the EFL Youth Alliance Cup this season after losing their opener to Rotherham United last month.
Mwiya Malumo continued his good start to the season with two goals after a Fleetwood own goal had given Nick Chadwick's side the lead. Mitchell Culshaw rounded off the scoring in a clinical display.
Latics went ahead in the early stages as Bradley Roberts and Charlie Jolley linked up down the left before the latter's cross was diverted into his own goal by a Fleetwood defender.
Chadwick's side got their second goal on 15 minutes when Malumo was played in behind by Joe Downey before finishing.
The third came two minutes before half time as Malumo and Downey linked up again, this time from a short free-kick, before the striker scored his second of the game.
Early in the second-half, Latics got their fourth as Victor Maffeo picked up a loose ball in the final third and crossed for Culshaw arriving at the back post to finish side footed.
Latics: Perrin, Golden (Plant 79), Hilton (Capt) (Obi 62), Long, Roberts, Culshaw, Downey (Monoghan 62), Cotter, Maffeo (Baningime 67), Malumo, Jolley.
