Argentinian striker can’t wait for in-form teams to meet.

“It will be a difficult game like every match in the Premier League is,” said Di Santo.

“They are a strong team and they have been doing well this season and recently so have we so it has all the makings of a great game.

“We know what we have to do in the next game and we have been playing at the correct level all season.

“The results have started to come with the performances now and if we continue to perform in the same manner then we can get a positive result against West Brom.”

Latics’ joint top scorer recently received his first call-up for his national side Argentina but, Di Santo says he’s extremely focused on the Club.

“I’m going away with the Argentina team next week but now the only thing that is on my mind is playing for Wigan Athletic and doing the best for the Club because that is the most important thing right now.”

On the theme of Argentina, the 23-year-old will come up against an old team-mate at the weekend in the form of West Brom midfielder Claudio Yacob.

“I’ve played with Claudio in the Under 20s for Argentina and he is a great player.

“He’s physically strong and he has some great quality in his passing play.

“He has come straight from Argentina to the Barclays Premier League which is a very hard thing to do and he has already settled so easily.”
