Park Life – Nick Taylor talks exclusively to Jordi Gomez about the international break and his happiness at Wigan Athletic

Spanish midfielder Gomez expressed his joy at the progression the Club is making and believes the start to the season has been good for him and the team.

“We should have more points than what we have got but, we will work hard to cut out any mistakes and to score more goals.

“In general I think the team has done quite well and I think it is going to be a great season for us.

“I like the ambition of the Club that we always look to improve each year and that is why I came here in the first place.

“From the Chairman down to the players there is a fantastic sense of confidence around the Club and everyone is working hard to keep the Club improving.”

As 12 players head off for their international duties for eight different nations, Gomez and the rest of the squad continue to focus their efforts on the preparation and training.

“The rest of us who haven’t gone to international games stay here and train hard to be ready for the next game.

“It is good to have a rest for a few days but then it is all about doing the job we need to do to the best of our ability and be as ready as we can be for Swansea City.”

He added.

“I like to watch when my team mates are in games that are on television and Scotland are on tomorrow against Wales so I’ll probably watch that.”
