Defender heads out on loan to Shrimps

Wigan Athletic defender Jordan Mustoe has today joined League Two side Morecambe on a one month loan deal.

The 21-year-old joins the Shrimpers in time for their Football League Trophy match against Preston North End at the Globe Arena on Tuesday night, and will return to Latics on 10 November.

Jim Bentley’s team currently occupy 17th place in the npower League Two table, following their goalless draw against against Burton Albion at the weekend, who currently have Rob Kiernan on loan.

Mustoe made his first Wigan Athletic start last season, against Swindon Town in the third round of the FA Cup and later joined Barnet until the end of the season, and helped the Bees avoid relegation from the Football League.

He would have faced Morecambe during that run in, but injury prevented him from facing the Shrimps in a game his team lost 2-0 at the Underhill Stadium.
