When the two sides met on matchday 2 in the group at the DW Stadium, NK Maribor coach Ante Simundza was leading his new team for the first time, for this return game it is Uwe Rosler who is the debutant.
After just three days and three training sessions the new Wigan Atheltic manager will be looking to over see a victory in Slovenia while hoping that Rubin Kazan will do him a favour in the group's other game in Brugges.
Our hosts are without a win in four European home games (D1 L3), both Zulte Waregem and Rubin Kazan have won here in this campaign.
Wigan however have not scored an away goal in the competition so far, something which has also contributed to their away form in the Sky Bet Championship.
For Maribor, this will be their 35th game of the season so far having started back on 3 July with Champions League qualifiers, 10 games more than Wigan.
Ivan Ramis is not eligible to play in the competition, the Spaniard recently returned to action playing three games in a week was not included on the original Europa League squad list. Will Keane is also ineligible and James McClean is suspended after he picked up his tird yellow card of the competition against Zulte Waregem. Youngster Ryan Meadows has travelled with the team and trained with them at the Ldjuski vrt Stadium on Wednesday night, Rosler opting to bring the midfielder along to gain some invaluable experience. Grant Holt has not travelled, thought to be being rested ahead of a crucial game against local rivals Bolton on Sunday.
