Club respond to fans' enquiries regarding pricing for Hillsborough

A number of Wigan Athletic supporters have contacted the club expressing their concerns over pricing of tickets for Wednesday's trip to Sheffield Wednesday, notably that our hosts have reduced ticket prices for home fans but not the Wigan Athletic supporters.

Every Football League club is permitted to run four local promotions per season whereby they can offer lower prices to their own supporters that they need not pass on to away fans.

It was under this same rule that Wigan Athletic was permitted to offer 3 games for £33 for the visits of Brighton, Zulte Waregem and Derby County. Similarly Blackpool had a promotional offer for their own supporters when we played our game at Bloomfield Road earlier this season.

Whilst we appreciate that some supporters may find the pricing unfair, particularly at this time of the year, we would encourage as many fans as possible who are able to make the trip to Hillsbrough on Wednesday night to do so to cheer on the team in Uwe Rosler's first away league game.
