First programme of the year packed with exclusives

Ali Al Habsi is the cover star on the front of today’s matchday programme for Latics’ clash with Manchester United at the DW Stadium.

Once again it’s another edition crammed with exclusives, special features and all the latest news from your club.

David Jones and Mike Pollitt began their careers under Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United and they both speak about their experiences learning the ropes at Old Trafford and how that time in their career has made them who they are today.

Spanish defender Roman Golobart talks about his recent experiences as part of the Latics matchday squad as well as his hopes of a club debut very soon, whilst club legend Neill Rimmer recalls the time he went toe-to-toe with United legend, Bryan Robson.

We flash back to 2006 and a classic meeting between the two sides at Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium, as well as some great shots of Latics fans in full-blown fancy dress at Goodison Park on Boxing Day.

Ian Purdie, Newport Town and our first season in the Football League is the focus of attention in our regular history feature, The Bigger Picture whilst Issue 11 takes a look at how that number has played its part in Latics’ past.

Other regulars include Wigan Observer’s Paul Kendrick’s views on recent weeks, a round-up of Wigan Athletic’s Community Trust over the past twelve months and an update from the club’s academy teams.

All this and much more is waiting for you in today’s official matchday programme, available for just £3.00 from sellers around the ground and inside the Club Shop.
