FA Cup to go on Wigan Schools Tour

To celebrate Wigan Athletic’s historic FA Cup victory the Club is delighted to announce that it is hoping for the famous trophy to visit every primary and secondary school in Wigan over the next year.

Wigan school children will be able to emulate their Wembley heroes and have their photograph taken with the Cup and also raise money for charity – with the Club asking people to make a donation in exchange for taking part.

All the proceeds from these collections will go to the Club’s selected charities for the 2013/2014 season.

Chief Executive Jonathan Jackson said: “Winning the FA Cup was a historic moment for Wigan Athletic and the support we received from the town was truly staggering.

“As a thank you to the town we want as many children as possible to feel part of this success and there is no better way of doing this than taking the Cup on tour to schools.

“It’s also a great way for us to try and raise some money for the Club’s selected charities, including the Wigan Youth Zone.”
