Former drummer of local band Roy Gaskell explains FA Cup foresight.

The day after Wigan Athletic's FA Cup third round replay win away at AFC Bournemouth, encouraged by the wonder strike from Mauro Boselli, former drummer of local Wigan band Copper Kettle Roy Gaskell had the foresight to place a wager on Latics going all the way.

Gaskell placed £10s each way on the 66/1 odds that Latics would win or be runners-up in this year's competition, meaning that if Roberto Martinez's men are successful against Manchester City, Gaskell stands to win £660.

It's not just about the money for Roy though and he's an avid Latics supporter who attended the semi-final victory over Millwall and will be there for the final tomorrow.

He said:

"It's a dream come true for myself and all of my fellow Latics fans.

"I put the bet on in January, so talk about keeping the faith!

"As a supporter I'd really like to thank Dave Whelan and Roberto Martinez, because they're the ones who have made this dream possible."

Roy will be keeping the faith again on Saturday and believes his bet will pay out, saying:

"I think it will be 2-0 to Latics, we can do it!"
