Callum McManaman explains what it means to him to score winner against West Brom.

After clinching the winning goal 10 minutes from time in today’s 3-2 victory against West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns, forward Callum McManaman explained just how elated his was to score.

The 22-year-old said:

“Scoring a goal in front of those fans is the best feeling in the world.

“I love to show my passion to the fans when I score and today was amazing.

“As Shaun (Maloney) was going through defenders with the ball I had a good feeling that the winning goal was about to come.

“I’d been quiet during the game but I kept saying to myself if I get one chance then it will go in.”

It was McManaman’s name on the score sheet but the modest young forward placed the praise on his team mate Shaun Maloney.

McManaman added:

“Shaun has put it on a plate for me and he’s provided excellent assists for both James’ goal and mine.

“He deserves all of the credit because I only tapped it in, I didn’t even hit it how I meant to but I’ll take scoring a goal like that any day of the week.”
