Latics announce temporary signing of Manchester United starlet

Wigan Athletic are delighted to announce the loan signing of Manchester United and England Under 21 forward Will Keane, who joins the club until January, subject to Premier League clearance.

The 20-year-old put pen to paper on the deal moments before the deadline for loan transfers closed, and Owen Coyle spoke of his delight at capturing the forward:

“Will is a young man who we’ve been watching for some time and it’s great that we’ve been able to bring him in to strengthen the group.

“It was important that we bolstered the squad after the departure of Marc Albrighton back to Aston Villa, and for me we’ve done that with a very exciting talent.

“I’m hopeful that the deal can be beneficial for both Wigan Athletic and Manchester United, and of course for Will himself.”

Keane made his debut for Manchester United against Blackburn Rovers in the Premier League back in December 2011, coming off the bench in a 3-2 defeat at Old Trafford.
