Match Preview

Wigan Athletic return to action at the DW Stadium this Saturday after an international break that in truth feels like a closed-season given the intense period of fixtures that preceded it.  The visitors are Brighton & Hove Albion whom Latics haven't met since March 2005 when Paul Jewell's side recorded a 4-2 win at the Withdean Stadium.

Latics are search of their third consecutive league victory following on from wins over Huddersfield Town and Yeovil Town while Brighton themselves are also seek their third straight win after wins away at Doncaster Rovers and against Blackburn Rovers at Home

Team News

Wigan Athletic will have Jean Beausejour available again, the Chilean international played a key role in his country's victory over England at Wembley last Friday then came of the bench after just nine minutes against Brazil in their 2-1 defeat in Toronto.  Owen Coyle also has reported the rest of his internationals have returned fit and well. Gary Caldwell, Shaun Maloney and Ali Al Habsi remain sidelined with Ivan Ramis close to a return.

Head to Head

The two sides have only ever met in league contests with Brighton having the slight edge with five wins to Latics four and just the one draw.  See our full head to head run down by [clicking here].
