Mustoe and Kiernan continue development at Bury and Southend.

It was a mixed weekend for Latics' loan stars, as Jordan Mustoe went on to complete his sixth 90 minutes in a row for Bury in a 3-1 defeat, while Rob Kiernan appeared as a 78th minute substitute in Southend's 3-0 victory against Mansfield Town.

Kiernan and Southend now sit in eighth, just three points from top in League Two after their comprehensive win on Friday night, with the defender making his fifth appearance for the Shrimpers since joining on loan in October.

Mustoe's Bury dropped to 22nd in League Two and were leap-frogged by opponents Torquay United.

Rakish Bingham's Falkirk were without a fixture this weekend in the Scottish Championship, as the majority of league sides competed in the Scottish Cup third round.

The 20-year-old striker has made eight appearances for the Bairns so far this season.
