Make sure you grab your souvenir edition for Thursday’s historic game

A special edition of the matchday programme has been produced to mark Wigan Athletic’s home debut in the UEFA Europa League, when they take on NK Maribor on Thursday evening.

The 84-page publication has a brand new look for the occasion, and is jam-packed with new features, exclusive interviews, fantastic never-before-seen images of our Matchday One fixture against Zulte Waregem and the inside guide to our opponents from Slovenia.

Chairman Dave Whelan offers a personal message to our visitors and the Latics fans, together with regular messages from Owen Coyle, Jonathan Jackson and Gary Caldwell.

Blues News has been revamped to bring all the latest news from this season’s Europa League, we have a scout report on the NK Maribor team that took on Rubin Kazan in their opening group match, together with an A-Z guide on the Slovenian champions and the memories Jean Beausejour has of taking them on whilst at Birmingham City.

We’ve covered every angle from our game against Zulte Waregem in Bruges two weeks ago, with great images of fans in Market Square and the team’s preparation before the game.

In an exclusive interview Emmerson Boyce talks of the pride at leading out Latics as captain in Bruges, his thoughts ahead of Thursday’s game and reflection on his time at the club.

Did you know Latics were in action 49 years ago to the very day they take on Maribor? Of course you did, but just in case we’ve tracked down and replicated the match programme from that afternoon, whilst Paul Rowley remembers the first time Wigan Athletic welcomed foreign opposition to the town back in 1970.

All this and much, much more is waiting for you in this special edition matchday programme, available for just £3.00 from programme sellers around the ground tomorrow evening and from inside the Club Shop at the ground.
