Uwe Rosler and Jonathan Jackson answer supporters’ questions at Fans Forum in aid of Joseph’s Goal.

Latics manager Uwe Rosler and Chief Executive Jonathan Jackson were at the DW Stadium last night to answer supporters’ questions at the Wigan Athletic Fans Forum in aid of Joseph’s Goal, and spent an hour and a half under the spotlight.

The event was hosted by BBC Five Live’s George Riley, who fielded questions from supporters at the sold-out event, as well as adding his own, and the result was a fascinating discussion.

The topics covered included everything from new signings, hopes for the new season, talking about the current squad, tactics and formations, looking back at last season’s run to the Play-Offs and the FA Cup run, how the pre-season has gone and was a very candid discussion as always.

Rosler said: “I think these events are absolutely crucial. It is important for us to understand what the supporters are thinking, and important for them to hear their questions answered directly by us. Plus we were able to support Joseph’s Goal once again. I enjoyed myself and we will definitely be doing this again in the future.”

Jackson said: “It’s important to have regular evenings like this and to maintain a close relationship with our supporters as we are all part of Wigan Athletic.

“There’s a good feeling of positivity at the moment and it’s good that we can share the manager’s insights and also give clarity to some of the decisions that are taken off the field.

“Our association with Joseph’s Goal goes back several years and we’re delighted to hold evenings like this in association with the charity.

The rest of the evening comprised a quiz and charity raffle, to which the club donated match worn shirts, exclusive signed merchandise and match tickets.

Paul Kendrick of the Joseph’s Goal charity said: “Thank you to everyone at the club, to Uwe and Jonathan for taking part and for all the help we received.”
