WIGAN ATHLETIC 3 BIRMINGHAM CITY 0
Tuesday 28 April 1992
A Gary Worthington double either side of Andy Pilling's second league goal of the season was enough to comfortably see off Birmingham City in Latics' final home game of the 1991/92 season.
The 5,950 crowd at Springfield Park were served up a trio of excellent finishes that afternoon, with Worthington's opening goal a clever chip over goalkeeper Kevin Dearden.
Pilling made it 2-0, firing in first time from John Doolan's cross, before Worthington's diving header in the second half wrapped up the points against a Birmingham side already heading for promotion into Division Two.
