A preview of this weekend's action at the DW Stadium
Wigan Athletic v Charlton Athletic
Sky Bet Championship
Saturday 1 February 2014, kick off 3.00pm
Wigan Athletic will be looking to get back to winning ways on home soil against Charlton Athletic this Saturday after two disappointing league results on the road. Uwe Rosler's side are currently seven points adrift of Reading who currently occupy sixth spot in the table, although Latics have two games in hand.
Chris Powell's Charlton Athletic find themselves two points adrift of safety at the wrong end of the table coming into Saturday's game after they went down 3-0 to Doncaster in midweek, the Addicks in desperate need of the points to mount a survival bid.
Both teams still have the distraction of the FA Cup having booked their place in the fifth round last Saturday. Charlton recorded an impressive 1-0 win at Huddersfield while Latics negotiated their way past Premier League opponents Crystal Palace.
Nick Powell is 50-50 to play any part in the game tomorrow but he will be assessed on the day along with a couple of other unnamed players. Uwe Rosler has also confirmed that Josh McEachran will be on the bench for the game. Gary Caldwell and Shaun Maloney remain sidelined.
Laurie Wilson will miss the game as he was sent off in the midweek defeat to Doncaster at the Keepmoat Stadium.
Head to Head
Saturday's game will be the sixth meeting between the two sides, all of them league fixtures. Both teams have two wins to their name with just the one draw, that coming at the Valley last time they met. [Click here] for the full head to head record.
