Latics head to the northeast for a Tuesday night clash at the Riverside
Middlesbrough v Wigan Athletic
Sky Bet Championship
Tuesday 28 January 2014, kick off 7.45pm
Despite a heavy defeat at the hands of Doncaster last time out in the league, Wigan Athletic boast a run of form that has seen them lose just one game from the last 10 in all competitions.
Middlesbrough too have seen themselves strike up a good run of form which includes five wins in the last seven games, they've also lost only two of their past 12 home games and failed to score in only two of their last 13.
Latics fans who make the Tuesday night trip are unlikely to get their first glimpse of Uwe Rosler's latest addition Josh McEachran who is continues to work on his fitness. Defenders Rob Kiernan and Tyias Browning are available again after missing the FA Cup on Saturday due to ineligibility. Rosler is keeping his cards close to his chest as to whether he will start Nick Powell who missed some of training last week and who was used from the bench against Crystal Palace.
Middlesbrouygh manager Aitor Karanka has reported no fresh injury worries this week. Albert Adomah (ankle), Daniel Ayala and Nathaniel Chalobah are all hoping to feature.
Head to Head
Tuesday night's game will be the 13th meeting between Latics and 'Boro. Latics have won just two of the 12 previous meetings with Middlesbrough winning five games. [Click here] for our full head to head record.
