French forward agrees switch to Midlands club

Wigan Athletic can confirm that 21-year-old forward Nouha Dicko has agreed a deal to join Wolverhampton Wanderers on a permanent basis.

The French forward put pen-to-paper on a deal with the League One club with whom he spent a loan spell towards the end of last season, making four appearances and scoring one goal.

Dicko spent a month with Rotherham United earlier this season and scored six goals in seven appearances for The Millers before returning to the DW Stadium and featuring in his final game as a Wigan Athletic player in the FA Cup third round tie against MK Dons.

Dicko joined Latics in August 2011 from French club Strasbourg, making his debut in the club’s League Cup defeat to Crystal Palace the following month. Two loan spells at Blackpool followed, scoring nine league goals for the Bloomfield Road side, before moving onto Wolves and Rotherham.

Overall, the forward made a total of nine appearances in all competitions for Latics without finding the back of the net.
