Graham Barrow to become Assistant Manager, with Eric Black returning to club as First Team Coach.
Former Scotland international Eric Black has joined Uwe Rosler’s coaching staff at Wigan Athletic as First Team Coach, with long serving coach Graham Barrow moving into the Assistant Manager role.
Barrow, who played over 200 games for Latics between 1981 and 1986 and managed the club between 1994 and 1995, celebrates his fifth year on the coaching staff this week after returning to Christopher Park under Roberto Martinez in 2009.
Black, who was assistant manager to Steve Bruce as the DW Stadium between 2007 and 2009, has previously enjoyed coaching spells with Celtic, Birmingham City, Sunderland and Blackburn Rovers whilst he also has managerial experience with Motherwell and Coventry City.
A UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup winner as a player, Black scored in the 1983 final as Sir Alex Ferguson’s side defeated Real Madrid in Sweden.
In addition to this news, former Under 18s coach John Doolan has departed the club.
