Premier League 4 Sport Beach Volleyball Competition.
Granada Studios yesterday played host to teams from across the North West for a regional Volleyball competition.
The event, organised by City in the Community, saw teams from across the region taking part.
Blackburn, Everton, Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City and Wigan all sent representatives from their respective communities and schools to compete in the tournament.
The competition took place on ITV’s sand Fever Pitch, where World Cup games have been screened throughout the tournament for the public.
Three teams from St Edmund Arrowsmith High School, Ashton-in-Makerfield, represented Wigan Athletic at the competition.
The two girls' teams came in 4th and 5th positions, whilst the boy's came in 2nd, narrowly missing out on first place after losing in the final game.
Zac Taylor, our Premier League 4 Sport co-ordinator said: ‘The competition was a great way to end a brilliant year of our Volleyball scheme.’
‘Holding the event at Fever Pitch gave the young people a chance to play Volleyball on a different style of pitch and interact with other young people from around the North West.’
‘I want to thank everyone from Manchester City and ITV who helped to set up and run the day.’
This year’s Premier League 4 Sport Volleyball summer scheme will be based at Wigan Youth Zone.
