Cup win at City earns Latics another LMA Performance of the Week accolade.
Wigan Athletic's 2-1 win at the Etihad Stadium over Manchester City in the FA Cup with Budweiser sixth round last Sunday has netted Uwe Rosler's side the Performance of the Week Award for the second time in eight days, an achievement described by the LMA as "an extremely rare feat".
The League Managers Association five-man Performance of the Week panel, comprising LMA Chairman Howard Wilkinson, Sir Alex Ferguson, Joe Royle, Dave Bassett and Barry Fry, were in agreement that this week, the LMA Performance of the Week Award should go to Wigan Athletic following the win.
Wigan Athletic manager Uwe Rosler will receive a specially engraved crystal football in a presentation to commemorate the award.
Goals from Jordi Gomez and James Perch secured a return to Wembley for The FA Cup holders for a semi-final meeting with Arsenal after stunning Manchester City in a repeat of last year's final.
After the match, Latics boss Uwe Rosler commented;
"To win - and the way we won - is my biggest achievement as a football manager.
"We did not do it just by parking the bus and being lucky. We played very good football and over long periods."
