James Perch previews tomorrow's game hoping to get a head start for the second leg.

The Play Offs of the Sky Bet Championship kick off for Latics tomorrow as Queens Park Rangers visit the DW Stadium for the first leg, and James Perch says the team are ready as usual for what is set to be a tactical battle.

An interview with the 28-year-old is available in tomorrow's match day programme as he talks about the season so far and also previews the game, below is an excerpt as he focuses on the task in hand against QPR:

"We’ll just do the first 90 minutes as we usually would and treat the two games as we would for Saturday/Tuesday games, but obviously it’s Friday/Monday this time.

"We need to look after the home game first, try and win it, try and keep a clean sheet like we always intend to do and then see where that puts us."

Some say the Play Offs of the Championship are the most valuable matches in football with the benefits of promotion to the Premier League massive on a club’s future and Perch says the players are fully aware of the magnitude of the games:

"The play-offs will be more of a footballing game than usual, more tactical, though the emotion and desire will still be there but it won’t be as highly charged as say a derby game would be," he added.

"There’s a lot riding on it and, if we get promoted, it’s massive for the club, massive for the town of Wigan and for us as players as well.

"When the game kicks-off we’re not thinking about the financial benefits of promotion for the club, we’re thinking about the pride we put in our performances because we all want a promotion to our names.

"It's been a long season but we've worked very hard to get into the Play Offs, now is the time to make sure we see the job through."
