Maloney and Kvist grab wins in Euro 2016 qualifiers.
- Maloney scores winner for Scotland v Republic of Ireland.
- Kvist and Denmark come from behind to win 3-1.
- Al Habsi and Figueroa also in action.
The main attraction for Wigan Athletic fans in the November internationals was at Celtic Park as Shaun Maloney scored the crucial goal in a 1-0 victory over James McClean's Republic of Ireland.
After a fascinating first half and heated start to the second, a short corner played to Maloney was curled into the right hand corner of the goal, akin to the midfielder's winning strike against Manchester United for Latics at the DW Stadium in 2012.
Maloney's goal sends Scotland level with Ireland and Germany on seven points in Group D, just three points behind leaders Poland. Both Maloney and McClean completed 90 minutes.
Following the game McClean posted a photo of the pair at full time, saying: "Although he's a team mate, it was a please playing against someone I had on the back of my Celtic jersey as a youngster."
In Group I William Kvist and Denmark came from behind away to Serbia to win 3-1, thanks to a double from Nicklas Bendtner either side of Simon Kjaer.
Denmark now sit top of the group on seven points, one above Portugal.
Earlier in the day Ali Al Habsi featured for Oman in a 0-0 draw against UAE in the 2014 Gulf Cup, with Maynor Figueroa captain of Honduras in a 6-0 defeat to Japan.
Under 18s goalkeeper Owen Evans has featured twice so far for Wales' Under 19s this month. Wednesday saw the young Welsh side beaten 2-1 by Portugal, with today's result a 4-0 defeat against Denmark.
