Saturday’s return to Sky Bet Championship action at the DW Stadium could also act as a reunion for midfielder Adam Forshaw and Brentford FC, with Latics’ summer signing hoping for three points against the club he signed from on deadline day.

The 23-year-old shared his thoughts ahead of the weekend’s game on Latics Player:

“It’s a big game, it’s my former club and I had some good times there.

“We got promoted and I do owe some gratitude to Brentford for what they’ve done for me, but when the chance came to come to Wigan it was a no brainer for me.

“It’s going to be strange coming up against them, but I’m looking forward to it and in football you have to put all of those feelings aside, because there’s only one job in hand and that’s a Wigan win.”
