  • Al Habsi joins Brighton on loan.
  • Month long deal for Oman international.
  • Ali not available to play on Tuesday against Latics.
Goalkeeper Ali Al Habsi has joined fellow Sky Bet Championship club Brighton & Hove Albion on a month long loan.

The Oman international stopper joins the Seagulls having featured just once so far this season for Latics in the Capital One Cup against Burton Albion.

Al Habsi will not be available to play against Latics when the two sides meet on Tuesday 4 November at the Amex Stadium.

The 32-year-old joined Latics on loan in 2010, before signing permanently in 2011, making 125 league appearances in total.

On the loan move Uwe Rosler said:

"With such a class goalkeeper, at some point you have to give him games.

"Last year he was fantastic but I made a decision this year to go with Scott. Ali has been absolutely professional.

"He is in my thoughts and in my plans. I know his contract runs out at the end of the season and at some point we need to make a decision on that.

"It is a gesture from us to support Ali because he has supported us and to give him competitive games."
