FIT FANS MEET LATICS HEROES

22 October 2014

Fit Fans presented with Wigan Athletic shirts by past and present players.

The Community Trust’s Fit Fans were presented with Wigan Athletic shirts by past and present Latics players Emmerson Boyce, Roger Espinoza and Neill Rimmer, at the game against Brentford last weekend.

The men all took part in the Community Trust’s Fit Fans project earlier this year and following the completion of the course, several of the participants ran in the Wigan 10K raising money for the Community Trust.

Fit Fans is a free 12 week programme for men over the age of 25 and aims to use football and sport to get men in Wigan doing more physical activity and being healthier. The scheme is ran in partnership with Bridgewater NHS Trust and is supported by the Premier League and the PFA.

The latest Fit Fans courses are running at the following times and locations:

Monday: 1-3pm at Montrose Skills Hub, Montrose Avenue, Pemberton, Wigan, WN5 9XN
