Football League announce new November-March football as Latics gets behind Movember.November sees the debut of the new Mitre Delta V12S Fluo football which will be used across the Sky Bet Football League from this weekend through until March. In a first for The Football League, on Saturday the new fluorescent yellow balls will also feature the iconic Movember “Mo” to celebrate the start of the Movember charity campaign.
Movember is reaching out to the football community to grow a moustache for men's health and Wigan Athletic are backing the campaign, especially the staff in the Commercial Department!
Club Legend Neill Rimmer is leading Latics' band including members of the commercial and media departments, who will all be growing a mo during the month in support of the Official Charity Partner of the Football League.
During the month we'll bring you 'Mo of the Day' across our social channels, as we look through the archives for some famous Latics Mo's and we'll keep you posted on the progress of Neill's attempt!
Movember aims to celebrate those golden times and relish the sight of real men with real moustaches gracing the pitches of the UK once more. Players and supporters can still be heroes on and off the pitch through the power of their upper lips and locally grown moustaches. Man-made and changing the face of men's health. Made in Movember and making a real difference to men's lives.
Movember has raised £345m for men's health over the last ten years and has been responsible for over 850 initiatives concerned with prostate cancer, testicular cancer and men's mental health.
In the UK, through collaboration with our health partners Prostate Cancer UK and the Institute of Cancer Research, coupled with direct funding from the Movember foundation, Movember are committed to accelerating outcomes in key areas of men's health and this year, for the first time, is also raising funds for men's mental health in the UK.
