Latics head into the game hoping to bounce back from a heavy defeat last time out at the hands of Port Vale.

Following the impressive 3-1 Under 21 Premier League Cup win against an experienced Nottingham Forest side, Latics were beaten 5-1 by the Valiants in mid-October.

It had been a goal scoring start to the 2014/15 campaign prior to that, with a 5-0 win against Preston North End and a 4-3 win against Wrexham.

TEAM NEWS

Ben Watson and Chris McCann will be looking for more game time as they step up their recoveries from long term injury, and could feature again today after their 60 minutes each against Everton last Tuesday.
