Kicks and Premier League 4 Sport winners pitch side presentations.Wigan Athletic goalkeeper Ali Al Habsi and Chief Executive Jonathan Jackson were on hand at the game against Ipswich Town to present two winning Wigan Athletic Community Trust teams with their awards.
The youngsters, who take part in the Latics Kicks and Wigan Athletic Premier League 4 Sport tennis programmes, won national competitions whilst representing the club in their sports earlier this summer.
The Kicks squad took part in a competition against six other club’s Kicks teams at the launch of the new North West Kicks league, where they won the overall tournament in the final against Manchester United. Dave Whelan, Uwe Rosler and Jonathan Jackson all attended the launch night to meet the teams and watch the opening fixtures.
The tennis players, who represented Wigan Athletic at the National Tennis Centre during the Wimbledon Championships, for a national Premier League 4 Sport tournament, finished as joint winners with a team from Stoke City.
Each team were congratulated by the Wigan Athletic crowd as Ali Al Habsi and Jonathan Jackson presented them with trophies and plaques for their achievements.
Wigan Athletic Community Trust run both Latics Kicks and Premier League 4 Sport sessions with support from the Premier League and Sport England.
