DEVELOPMENT SQUAD
Wigan Athletic v Wrexham
Tuesday 2 September 2014, kick off 2.00pm
Christopher Park
Final Third Development League

Preview

After Latics' 2013/14 success in the Final Third Development League West, winning the division by three points, Joe Parkinson's side today go head-to-head with the same team they faced in on of their opening home game of the last campaign, Wrexham.

A 4-0 victory against the Red Dragons at Christopher Park last season was Latics' third in a row at the start of a very successful term which saw them also scoop the Final Third Development League Cup.

In August, Latics went in search of a third trophy when they took on Bury in the Lancashire FA Senior Cup final, but a cruel penalty defeat had the Shakers victorious.

Preparations for this season continued a week ago, again facing Bury, as Latics drew 2-2 courtesy of a Matthew Hamilton double, the very same player who scored in the cup final 1-1 draw.

Team News

Latics: Keane, Harrison, Wilson, Flores, Caldwell, Fyvie, Tavernier, Chow (c), Waghorn, Hamilton, Taylor-Sinclair

Subs: Absalom, Holt, Balogun, Johnson, Jennings
