Incorporating the 2014-15 Player of the Year Awards

Wigan Athletic are delighted to bring you the showpiece occasion of the year on Wednesday 29 April, a unique dinner commemorating two incredible decades under the stewardship of outgoing chairman Dave Whelan – and incorporating the 2014-15 Player of the Year Awards.

With some very special guests to be announced in the coming weeks, the evening will take you back through the highlights of 20 unforgettable years;  in the presence of many people who helped to make it happen: players, managers, supporters.

The evening will include the presentation of the 2014-15 Supporters Player of the Year, Players’ Player of the Year and Michael Millet Award for the Under 18s Academy Player of the Year.

Then, the evening will move onto a celebration of the Dave Whelan years.

From the day Mr Whelan swept into Springfield Park in February 1995, things were never the same again…from winning promotion in 1997, 2003 and 2005 and fulfilling the promise to bring Premier League football to Wigan, to helping the team survive among the elite for eight years, beating every one of the biggest names in English football along the way.

Then, of course, came the cup triumphs:  the Autowindscreens Shield Trophy Final at Wembley, the League Cup Final at the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff and culminating of course when the man who made it all possible walked out onto the hallowed turf of Wembley at around 7.30pm on May 11 2013 to lift the FA Cup in front of the ecstatic Wigan Athletic supporters.

It’s an unmissable event for all Wigan Athletic supporters - so book your seats today as we relive the incredible Dave Whelan years, held inside the magnificent enduring legacy Mr Whelan has built for the club and the town, the DW Stadium.

Tickets are priced at £130, or you can book a table for ten for £1200, inclusive of VAT. For further details, or to make your reservation, please call 01942 770 400 or email
