Lancashire FA Youth Cup Final
Wigan Athletic v Tranmere Rovers
Saturday 25 April 2015, kick off 11.00am
Christopher Park

PREVIEW

After narrowly missing out on the Football League Youth Alliance title on Tuesday afternoon away to Rochdale, Latics now have another chance to claim some silverware in what has been an impressive and demanding campaign.

Tuesday's 1-0 loss saw Latics finish second behind Bury by just one point, whilst Tranmere finished fourth.

Tranmere Rovers are the visitors to Christopher Park for the Lancashire FA Cup final, with nothing between the sides in earlier meeting during the season, a 0-0 draw at Tranmere in August and a 2-2 home draw in December.

ROAD TO THE FINAL

Both Latics and Tranmere entered the competition at the quarter finals, recording comprehensive victories to book their respective semi-final spots.

Latics won 4-1 at Robin Park Arena against Preston North End, with Tranmere sealing a comfortable 3-0 home win against Bury.

The semi-final proved more of a battle, with Sam Cosgrove scoring late on in a 1-0 win against Rochdale, as Tranmere once again kept a clean sheet to win 2-0 at home to Blackpool.
