New Fit Fans sessions for men AND women!
Wigan Athletic Community Trust are excited to announce their first ever Fit Fans course for women!
Since Fit Fans was introduced as a free 12-week men’s health programme in 2012, over 200 have taken part.
Following on from the programme’s success so far, a female-only Fit Fans session is being introduced next month, giving women over the age of 18 the opportunity to get active and have fun by playing football and other sports, as well as receiving free health checks and workshops!
Not only that, everyone who completes the 12-week course will be presented with a Wigan Athletic replica shirt!
The first set of sessions for women will begin on Tuesday 5 May from 6.00 – 8.00pm at Montrose Skills Hub, Montrose Avenue, Pemberton, Wigan, WN5 9XN and will run for 12 weeks. Find out more [here].
Further men’s Fit Fans sessions have been confirmed for those aged 25+, just in time to get fit and ready for summer!

Chris Baxter, Fit Fans co-ordinator said: “The Community Trust have had great success with the Fit Fans programme since it was introduced in 2012 and after being approached by a group of female Wigan Athletic supporters earlier this season, about creating a female version of the project, we decided to run a female-only Fit Fans course.
“Fit Fans is a great way for any Latics fan, male or female, to come along, meet new people and improve their fitness with the help of the Community Trust coaches and NHS Health Trainers.”
Fit Fans is funded by the Premier League and the PFA and runs in partnership with Bridgewater Community Healthcare NHS Trust, whose Health Trainers attend sessions and provide support to participants.
