Latics fans urged to bring their flags to the Doncaster game and every match at the DW this season.

  • Every day is flag day when Latics play at the DW.
  • Supporters to bring their flags to matches.
  • ‘The fans are the lifeblood’ - Caldwell.
Wigan Athletic supporters are being asked to bring flags to home matches and lay them out in the stands at the DW Stadium this season.

A designated section at the bottom of the ES2 section of the East Stand will be reserved for supporters flags and Latics manager Gary Caldwell has urged as many fans to bring their flags to games, starting with the Doncaster Rovers match this Sunday 16 August and for the rest of the season.

“The supporters are the lifeblood of the club and we need their help as much as possible this season – I think it’s a great idea if the flags we always see away from home can all be brought together in one section of the ground, which always creates that extra atmosphere.”

Supporters wishing to bring their flags to games should allow extra time to fasten them to the seats prior to matches. Fans simply need access to the East Stand to fasten a flag in the Flag Section.
