Jason Pearce was one of a number first team squad members to feature in a Development Squad friendly this afternoon, as Latics won 2-0 at Christopher Park against Morecambe.
Pearce continued to step up his recovery from injury with a solid 45 minutes, alongside the likes of Jussi Jaaskelainen, Sanmi Odelusi, Ryan Jennings, Jordan Flores, Max Power, Sean Murray, Leon Barnett and Billy Mckay.
The latter found himself on the score sheet alongside Development Squad forward Matty Hamilton in the first half, with Jennings close to a third in the second half, only to see his spot kick saved.
Mckay gave Latics the lead inside 25 minutes when he latched onto the end of an Odelusi cross from the right wing, with Hamilton scoring from the penalty spot 10 minutes later after Jennings was sent tumbling in the area.
Alex Lingard, Danny O'Brien, Adrian Purzycki, Josh Gregory and a trialist were introduced at half time.
Arnie Baxendale and Louis Robles were also introduced during the second half, with Anson and Hamilton making way.
Ten minutes from time Jennings won a second penalty of the afternoon down the right by-line, but saw his effort from 12 yards pushed wide.
