- Latics loan update.
- Cosgrove in first start for Barrow.
- Forward involved in narrow defeat to Cheltenham.
Wigan Athletic Development Squad forward Sam Cosgrove was handed his first start for Vanarama National League side Barrow this weekend, completing 90 minutes in a narrow 2-1 defeat to Cheltenham Town.
The Bluebirds looked like they had sealed a draw at Whaddon Road, only for a stoppage time header to push the Robins to victory.
Cosgrove had a penalty appeal turned down during the first half, and also came close when his header from an Alex-Ray Harvey cross was tipped over the bar.
The 18-year-old made his debut last week as a late substitute in a 1-1 draw with Guiseley.
Barrow are next in action this coming Saturday at home to Southport.
