On loan forward Shaq Coulthirst has returned to Tottenham Hotpsur for treatment following a thigh injury sustained in the home victory over Scunthorpe United last week.
The 20-year-old has made two substitute appearances for Latics so far, against Doncaster Rovers and Scunthorpe United, but missed out on the weekend's trip to Gillingham.
Manager Gary Caldwell said:
"Shaq has got a serious tear of the thigh muscle, which is being assessed by the Tottenham medical team this week.
"We don't know yet the full extent of the injury, or how long the recovery will take. It's too early yet to say if he'll be coming back.
"We certainly hope he can come back to us, because I was impressed with what he brought to the table. Shaq made a good impact on both occasions he played.
"We will be monitoring the situation day-by-day."
