THE CUP SO FAR
Latics began their FA Youth Cup campaign in a competitive contest against York City, eventually forcing their way to a 4-2 victory. James Barrigan gave his side the lead inside the sixth minute, only for York's Tyler Walton to equalise 12 minutes later. Luke Burke had Latics back in front shortly after the hour mark, before the young Minstermen equalised for a second time through Brad Freer.
With 15 minutes remaining, Chris Sang made sure of Latics' progression, grabbing a brace to send the game to 4-2.
Latics were on the road in the second round in another close fought contest against Lincoln City. The 1-0 victory came about as a result of the desire of Callum Lang to chase down the Lincoln goalkeeper from inside his own half, blocking the eventual clearance which found its way into the back of the net.
Next Thursday's fixture will see Latics up against a Stevenage side who won 3-0 away to Aveley in the first round, before edging past Cambridge United 4-2 on penalties, following a 0-0 draw.
