CHORLEY FC 2 CLITHEROE FC 1 - SAM COSGROVE

Sam Cosgrove grabbed his first goal in Chorley FC colours on Tuesday evening, with the half time substitute scoring the crucial winner in the Magpies' 2-1 victory over Clitheroe in the LFA Challenge Trophy.

Five minutes after the break and with Cosgrove introduced, Chorley took the lead at Victory Park through Sefton Gonzalez, only for Dale Witham to equalise six minutes later.

Cosgrove's persistence up front paid off 10 minutes from time, when he latched onto the end of Paul Jarvis' cross to send Chorley into the semi-final with his first goal for the club.

The 19-year-old was making his fourth appearance for the Magpies.
