Latics gear up for first visit to Fleetwood Town as a Football League club.

  • Latics travel to Fleetwood Town in Sky Bet League One.
  • Tickets SOLD OUT for first Football League visit to Fleetwood.
  • Kick off 3.00pm on Monday 28 December.

After Boxing Day's postponement at the DW Stadium for the visit of Sheffield United, Latics head to Fleetwood Town for their first fixture since a 2-0 victory away at Barnsley on Saturday 19 December.

Latics' visit to Fleetwood on Monday 28 December will be their first in the Football League, with a 3.00pm kick off at Highbury Stadium.

Ahead of the final fixture of 2015, Latics currently sit sixth in Sky Bet League One level on points with fifth place Peterborough United, but with a game in hand following on from Boxing Day.

Hosts Fleetwood currently lie 18th in the table, just two points above Barnsley who occupy the final place in the relegation zone, following back-to-back 1-1 draws away at Crewe Alexandra, and Shrewsbury Town on Boxing Day.

Both Chris McCann and Kevin McNaughton were unavailable for Latics' trip to Barnsley in their last outing, with both still doubtful for the visit to Fleetwood.

The Cod Army could also be without a duo, as Danny Andrew and Vamara Sanogo are both battling for full fitness.

It was a day to remember for local midfielder Jordan Flores who scored the opening goal of a 2-1 victory over Fleetwood at the DW Stadium earlier this season, a fine finish on his home league debut for the club.

Michael Jacobs doubled Latics' lead just two minutes into the second half, before Tyler Hornby-Forbes made things uncomfortable for the final half an hour pr so, with his goal just after the hour mark.
