PREVIEW

Latics' Under 18s host Preston North End in the Football League Youth Alliance at Robin Park Arena on Saturday 5 December, kick off 11.00am, ahead of the afternoon's first team encounter with Barnsley in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.

Will Ryder's side are unbeaten in 10 matches going into the local derby, having won six in a row in all competitions, and three in a row in the league, following last weekend's 1-0 victory over Tranmere Rovers.

Five places separate the two sides, with Latics sat in third and just two points behind leaders Walsall with a game in hand, whilst Preston sit eighth on 17 points from 12 matches.

The two sides met earlier in the season in the Lancashire FA Youth Cup, with holders Latics coming out 3-2 winners at Chorley FC's Victory Park, thanks to goals from James Barrigan, Nathan Randell and Callum Lang.
