Ali Al Habsi heads for Asian Cup in Australia.

  • Al Habsi to captain Oman in 2015 Asian Cup.
  • Oman to face Korea Republic, Kuwait and hosts Australia.
  • Group A games between 10-17 January.

Following Saturday's FA Cup clash with Bolton Wanderers, goalkeeper Ali Al Habsi travelled out to Australia to join up with Oman's AFC Asian Cup squad ahead of the tournament, which kicks off for the 'Red Warriors' on Saturday 10 January against Korea Republic.

Al Habsi was heavily involved in the qualification process for Oman, with Paul Le Guen's side finishing top of their group on 14 points above Jordan, Syria and Singapore.

It will also be the 33-year-old's third Asian Cup campaign, having played in the 2004 and 2007 competitions.  Al Habsi currently has 92 caps for his country.

Hosts Australia, 2007's third place side Korea Republic and Kuwait form Group A alongside Oman, with Al Habsi and his team mates in action this coming Saturday.

Oman fixtures for the Group Stage of the tournament are as follows:

Saturday 10 January - Korea Republic at the Canberra Stadium - Kick off - 5.00am (UK)
Tuesday 13 January - Australia at Stadium Australia, Sydney - Kick off - 9.00am (UK)
Saturday 17 January - Kuwait at the Newcastle Stadium - Kick off - 9.00am (UK)
