Preview

Unbeaten in six games (over 90 minutes), Latics head to Wrexham second in the FTDL West following back-to-back home wins against Walsall (1-0) and Morecambe (4-0).

Latics’ last outing in December saw them overcome Tranmere Rovers 4-0 in the FTDL Cup Group Stage, with Matthew Hamilton, Andy Delort, Declan Poole and Jordan Flores on target.

FA Cup experience was gained by one member of the Development Squad at the weekend, as Tim Chow was named amongst the substitutes against Bolton Wanderers, with Under 18s striker Sam Cosgrove also on the bench.

Hosts Wrexham begin the game in fourth place four points behind Latics, having won two and lost three of their opening five league games.

Previous Meeting

It was a goal fest at Christopher Park, with Latics getting off to a winning league start back in September.  Martyn Waghorn opened the scoring on 24 minutes, before Wrexham took a shock 3-1 lead heading into the last 30 minutes.

An inspired double from Fraser Fyvie pulled Joe Parkinson’s side level, before Tim Chow powered through midfield to grab the winning goal in stoppage time.
