Annual trip for Community Trust coaches to Isle of Man a success.

  • Fourth year of football camps at Colby AFC, Isle of Man.
  • Over 100 players attended throughout the week.
  • “A really well-run soccer week” – James Curphey, Isle of Man Soccer School organiser

Over 100 junior footballers have taken part in an action-packed week of football camps on the Isle of Man, thanks to the coaches at Wigan Athletic Community Trust.

For the last four years the Community Trust have sent their coaches to the Isle of Man to provide football coaching at Colby AFC and the sessions have proven popular again this year.

As well as the high quality football coaching provided, there was lots of fun and games on offer too, including Wacky Wednesday, where the players came down in fancy dress and their wackiest outfits to win prizes and points for their team.

James Curphey, the organiser of the camps at Colby AFC, said: “Once again we have been delighted to welcome Wigan Athletic Community Trust to Colby AFC, Isle of Man.

“Over 100 kids attended this year, wearing wigs for Wacky Wednesday, scoring goals and making lots of new friends.

“Parents have praised the professional and fun attitudes of the coaches and the kids have been pleading for more events like this in the future!

“Thanks to the team – it’s been a really well-run soccer week!”
