FOOTBALL FOR ARMED FORCES VETERANS

14 July 2015

Wigan Athletic Community Trust and Wigan Council introducing new project for Armed Forces Veterans in Autumn 2015.

Are you an Armed Forces veteran living in Wigan? Do you want to play football and get active? Would you be interested in becoming a football or sports coach?

Wigan Athletic Community Trust and Wigan Council are planning to launch a new football project for Armed Forces veterans in autumn 2015!

The project launch comes following the football club and Wigan Council’s signing of the Armed Forces Covenant, which will see veterans receiving free and discounted match tickets through the Tickets for Troups initiative, local cadets being able to fundraise at Wigan Athletic home games and supporting employees who are reservists and those with spouses and partners in the armed forces.

If you would like to find out more about taking part, please contact Chris Baxter, Men’s Health Co-Ordinator at the Community Trust, on 01942 488 530 or email c.baxter@wiganathleticct.com.
