Community Trust looking for new Schools Sports and Cohesion Coach.


Wigan Athletic Community Trust are looking for a full-time Schools Sports and Cohesion Coach to join their highly successful team.

The role will include helping Wigan Athletic Community Trust to provide high quality football and sports coaching to Wigan primary schools and being a lead coach at a Premier League Kicks Hub site.

Key Responsibilities:

To deliver high quality football and sports coaching in Wigan primary schools as part of the Community Trust’s PPA provision
Ensure that all activities delivered are in line with the Primary School Curriculum and OFSTED guidelines.
Manage relationship with host schools to ensure continuation of PPA contract.
To deliver evening football and sport sessions as part of the Premier League Kicks project
To collect the appropriate monitoring information and to assist in up keep of the VIEWS on-line monitoring and evaluation system.
To ensure all activities are correctly monitored with the appropriate risk assessments and health and safety procedures put in place
To be a flexible member of the Wigan Athletic Community Trust team and when requested assist in the delivery of other projects and activities including evenings and weekends

Key Skills:

Experience in sports coaching to young people of all abilities and experience
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Good organisational and prioritising skills
Self-motivated and the ability to work well within a team

Essential Requirements:

A minimum of two years’ experience of delivering sports coaching in schools
FA Level 2 Coaching Award (or equivalent)
Level 1 Coaching Award in one or more sports other than football
Full clean driving license

Desirable Requirements:

Good knowledge of the Primary School Curriculum and OFTSED guidelines
Knowledge surrounding issues affecting young people and the Wigan Community
